Data Mining for Design

Nambi Gardner + Laura Crescimano
Gensler

Speaker Bios
Nambi Gardner is an Associate at Gensler’s San Francisco office, and brings a choreographer’s approach to her role as a Design Strategist. She received degrees in architecture from Yale and Columbia Universities where she studied the relationship between architecture, dance and behavior. At Gensler, she has continued to explore her interest in the way people dynamically occupy space and conversely, the way space facilitates the movement of people over time. Her work has resulted in richly imagined programming and prototyping grounded in the quantitative logistics of use, occupancy and construction feasibility.

Laura Crescimano is fascinated by the un-likely, unheard of, and in-between. At the intersection of research and architecture, Laura focuses on using design as a strategic tool–formally and organizationally–in both the public and private sector. She has led classes on public space and the culture of design. Laura is a designer and strategist at Gensler San Francisco and serves on the Board of Directors for AIA San Francisco.
