As Founder and CEO of Knowledge Architecture, Christopher is responsible for marketing and sales, product management, and corporate operations. Christopher has been a technology leader in the AEC industry since 2002, including serving as the Chief Information Officer for Steinberg Architects and the Information Technology Director for SMWM (now Perkins+Will). In addition to his corporate experience, he is currently serving on the boards of Public Architecture and the San Francisco AIA, is a former board member of the AEC IT Leaders Roundtable and the founder of San Francisco Digital Design (SFDD). He has spoken and written for several industry groups including AEBL, ZweigWhite, the AEC IT Leaders Roundtable, and LINE Magazine. Prior to entering the AEC industry, Christopher was a consultant with Experio Solutions (now Hitachi Consulting), a strategic technology consulting practice serving Global Fortune 1000 companies.

Christopher has degrees in History and Political Science from Wake Forest University. He's an avid reader, basketball player, gardener, and cook.

Susan is responsible for serving Knowledge Architecture clients through account and project management. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Susan created and filled the Director of Human Resources role at Mazzetti. Susan's diverse background in organizational design, project management, and low voltage engineering at Mazzetti and Gilbane Building Company allow her to draw upon a broad range of experiences to meet the needs of our customers. In addition to her professional work, Susan is the President of the East Bay Smith College Alumnae club and is a Collegiate Leadership Coach for the Society of Women Engineers.

Susan has spoken and written on sustainable engineering in healthcare and A/E management for organizations including SMPS, ASHE, and EUEC.

Contact Brian

Brian leads Knowledge Architecture's development team and is responsible for software architecture and our technical roadmap. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Brian was the Business Information Systems Manager for Steinberg Architects, where he was responsible for planning, design, and implementation of systems such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Newforma Project Center, and Deltek Vision. Long before starting his technology career, Brian was an Associate at SMWM, responsible for overseeing Project Management, Construction Administration, Risk Management and Contracts. His passion for technology is always tempered by his experience as a leader on the practice side of the business.

Brian has a degree in English Literature from Ohio University. He and his wife own The Candy Store in San Francisco.

Contact Sean

Sean is responsible for the development of Synthesis Mobile and the Nexus API. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Sean worked as a freelance web developer and designed participatory games for museums. He previously worked in desktop support and systems administration roles at SMWM (now Perkins+Will), drawing on self-taught computer mastery gained while an English Language and Literature undergraduate at The University of Chicago. An inveterate tinkerer, Sean approaches software engineering as a creative and strategic practice.

Sean spends his free time running games like SFZero and Journey to the End of the Night, and occasionally playing music.

Contact Chad

As the Director of Technical Operations for Knowledge Architecture, Chad is responsible for the technical architecture and delivery of Knowledge Architecture's software and services. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Chad was responsible for technical infrastructure and support services at LPA Inc., a California-based integrated design firm. Chad's passion for process engineering and his technical depth provide the foundation for our intranet and integration services.

Chad has a degree in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara.

Zucu brings over a decade of experience leading learning and organizational change as an internal and external consultant. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Zucu launched the customer success and people functions at Govini, a business intelligence platform for government contractors. Before Govini, Zucu ventured to London to launch the EMEA client services team for Context Optional, a social media management platform that is now Adobe Social. Prior to Context Optional, Zucu founded the people, product management and enterprise account functions at Granicus, a government transparency startup. In each of her roles, Zucu has leveraged her passion for knowledge management and talent development to support strategic growth.

Zucu graduated cum laude from Smith College with a degree in Political Science. She spends her free time cooking, reading, hiking, meditating, traveling, speaking french, and gardening.

Contact Paul

Paul is responsible for the front-end development of Synthesis, Knowledge Architecture's social intranet for architects and engineers. In addition, Paul develops and maintains Synthesis Mobile for Android. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Paul was responsible for the day to day technical issues of architects and designers at Steinberg Architects. He was the go-to person for software rollouts, Linux maintenance, and custom scripts. Paul brings to the table a 'make it happen' approach to software development where any idea can be brought to reality with enough ingenuity.

Paul has a degree in Computer Science from CSU Monterey Bay. He is a freestyle skier who has recently taken up beer making.

Fred is currently working on building out Synthesis Search Optimization, the first major component of our Synthesis Analytics platform. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Fred founded Practice Lab, which helped professional service firms securely collect and share business benchmarking data and see how they stack up against peers. Fred was also a co-founder in the management consulting firm ZweigWhite.

Fred has a BFA in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College. He's a dad, guitarist, drummer, runner, sometimes blogger, and enjoys cats, new ideas, building stuff, and solving problems.

Sarah Davies is a client success chameleon who thrives on working directly with clients to help them reach and exceed their goals. Prior to joining Knowledge Architecture, Sarah was a senior member of the client success team at YapStone, where she managed key accounts and helped launch and build the client success team. Sarah’s interest in knowledge management stems from her time at YapStone, where she learned first-hand the importance of capturing tribal company knowledge in order to support organizational growth.

Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution & Civil Society Development from The American University of Paris and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Communications & Culture and French from Indiana University Bloomington (Go Hoosiers!). She enjoys traveling, cooking, dancing, exploring new and old-world wines, spending time with family and friends, and making silly faces with her kids.
